Peter Triantos: A Euphoric Breath Of Fresh Air

“The biggest inspiration from my art comes from love.” Peter Triantos is an internationally acclaimed contemporary abstract painter and printmaker who never stops evolving his unique vision. He creates radiant and harmonious worlds of intelligent colour, subtle yet explosive energy and vibrant emotion through his neo-abstract expressionist works. Through his splashing paint technique, gestural brushstrokes, and liberal use of impasto, Triantos produces large-scale impactful works that are bold, visually striking and tender. “Beginning a new work of art is super exciting for me. Often, I have a preconceived idea of creating something unique and stimulating that will intrigue myself and the viewer. However, the process creates its own flow and encapsulates, solidifies, and impregnates itself into the medium I am using,” expresses Peter.

For his many fans and collectors, he offers a euphoric breath of fresh air. “No two people perceive abstract art in the same way; it’s what their intuition projects on it. This is the reason art moves people in such fascinating ways. Whether they are seeing my work for the first time, or whether it is a piece they have viewed several times, it’s an entirely personal experience! Like love, it can happen at first sight or develop over time,” shares Triantos. His dynamic and positive energy is encapsulated in his artwork expressing his core beliefs, art can and should be joyful. He expresses reflections of life and nature and he creates thank-you notes to humanity.

Passionate and incredibly talented, Peter Triantos has a diverse and vast body of work. Each breathtaking series: ‘Winter Paradise,’ ‘Napa Valley,’ ‘Black and White abstract,’ ‘Splash of Colour,’ ‘Abstract Expressionism,’ ‘Circle,’ ‘Storm,’ he creates is a thoughtful departure from the last that connects one another and the world. The hit ‘Jelly Bean’ series is a visual euphony of positive energy and joy. Intense colours and bold brushstrokes come together to become lively arrangements that are simple yet sophisticated. “As I transfer energy from my subconscious mind into the physical world, the form and structure manifests itself through each and every move I make until a balance is reached,” reveals Peter.

Prolifically creative, he lives and works in Toronto, where he has successfully represented himself for many years while further developing his innovative artistic styles. He works with Phillippe Guggenheim from HG Contemporary Gallery in Chelsea, and he has participated in exhibitions in various cities: Auckland, Seoul, Hong Kong, Basel, New York, Saratoga Springs NY, Miami and Napa Valley, California, among many others. His art forms part of many prominent public and important private collections around the world. Due to worldwide high demand, he is expanding again, opening two galleries in Toronto: one at the Yorkdale Shopping Mall, across Louis Vuitton's new location; and the other one in the heart of downtown, in Yorkville across from The Hyatt Hotel. He has been asked to participate in the exhibitions in Seoul, Mykonos, Vancouver, Miami, London, and Dubai in the New Year.

Besides his devotion to his artwork, Triantos is an avid philanthropist who has supported many great causes by donating his iconic ‘Jelly Bean’ pieces. Numerous charity events ask him to donate his stunning pieces, and he is honoured to support the foundations and gives with all his heart. He has helped raise funds for: Rainmaker Enterprise in support of creating solar-powered water infrastructure in Sudan; SickKids Hospital to inspire children around the world to believe in themselves no matter how difficult their circumstances; Bay Crest Foundation's ‘Brain Project’; the ‘Paddle Project’ of Camp Oochigeas for childhood cancer; Mount Sinai Hospital; the ‘Teddy Bear Affair’ for Children's Aid Foundation; Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research and many more wonderful causes.
