A Kevin Kliman story By Natalie Messina

Trends in Diamonds:

A Modern Evolution Engagement rings are the epitome of love and commitment, and today’s trends reflect a shift toward both innovation and tradition. One major trend taking the market by storm is the popularity of lab-grown diamonds. These diamonds now constitute the majority of sales, appealing to eco-conscious consumers who value sustainability without compromising on beauty. Larger diamonds, particularly in the two to three-carat range, are highly sought after, providing a statement of opulence and grandeur.

Elongated diamond shapes such as opals, radiant cuts, and emerald cuts are gaining traction for their elegant and sophisticated appeal. While natural diamonds still hold a place in the market, lab-grown diamonds are undeniably leading the charge due to their affordability and ethical advantages.

Unmatched Quality and Service

What sets us apart from competitors is our combination of attention to detail, competitive pricing, and top-quality service. It’s my job to ensure our customers feel comfortable and that the buying process is as seamless as possible. Our commitment to excellence is evident in the lifetime warranty we offer, providing clients with confidence in the quality and durability of their rings. Additionally, we provide lifetime maintenance, ensuring that our rings remain as beautiful as the day they were purchased.

Memorable Client Experiences

Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of working with numerous high-profile clients. One such memorable experience involved a Bay Street CEO who was referred to us. Knowing precisely what he wanted, we matched his specifications and saved him a quarter of a million dollars. This level of personalized service and expertise is what makes our brand exceptional.

Consumer-Driven Styles

The evolution of engagement ring styles is driven by consumer preferences. Our mission is to create individualized rings that reflect the unique tastes of each customer. While thick bands were once in vogue, today’s consumers prefer thin bands with hidden halo accents, diamond claws, and side accents. Notably, yellow gold is making a stylish comeback, cycling through phases of popularity over the decades.

A Journey from Wholesale to Retail

My journey in the diamond industry began at 18, when I was mentored by an experienced professional. I spent years in wholesale, selling to hundreds of retailers and importing from Asia, India, and Italy. Eventually, I transitioned to manufacturing my own designs in Toronto, allowing me to control both quality and timing—a crucial factor in the time-sensitive world of engagement rings. By keeping production in-house, we meet the precise needs of our customers without delay.

The Power of Social Media and Personal Connections

Eight years ago, I took a bold step into the retail space and launched an Instagram account @nationaljewelcreations. Through dedication and effort, our following has grown organically to 100,000. This platform has been instrumental in building personal connections with clients, specializing in bridal engagement rings and wedding bands. Being a part of such significant moments in our clients’ lives is a privilege we deeply cherish.

Recognition and Community Impact

Our organic Instagram growth, coupled with stellar Google reviews, distinguishes us from national competitors. We are proud of our accolades, including multiple awards from The Knot’s Best of Weddings, Top Choice Award, and Consumer’s Choice Award. Beyond our business achievements, we are committed to giving back. For every ring sold, we donate $50 to the SickKids Foundation, supporting critical care and research for children in need.

Our success is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality, ethical practices, and exceptional customer service. By continually adapting to trends and maintaining a personal touch, we strive to create timeless pieces that symbolize love and commitment for generations to come.
